After a two-year presence on Macedonia's market, Microsoft Corporation formally announced Thursday an opening of its office in the country.
Ilijanco Gagovski is appointed for the chief of this office, which will have five employees. Microsoft is planning to expand its activities in the region, i.e. in Bosnia/Herzegovina and Albania.
"Opening of an office is very significant for the country. It expresses the corporation commitment to users in regard to delivery of high-quality products and technologies," Microsoft General Manager for SEE Silviu Hotaran said.
Microsoft presence in Macedonia presented a proof that investing in Macedonia could be profitable and would also contribute to IT development in the country, Gagovski said.
This evening, Microsoft will present the Мacedonian version of Windows program, which will be offered free of charge to all companies that legalized their software.
So far, Microsoft has launched a campaign for software legalization and signed about 400 agreements in Macedonia. Future activities would include legalization of the software in education and small companies, Gagovski said.
