On the
first day of the Glocal 2.0 conference, two interesting sessions were held. At
the first session on the topic of “Emerging Media Ecosystems," there was a
discussion about the influence of the new on-line tools in the mainstream media
and in journalism.
Robin Haman from the BBC had an interesting presentation about
the opportunity to use the Web 2.0 technologies in on-line journalism. Afterwards,
some examples on citizen journalism in Bulgaria
and Belgium
were also presented. Zoran Richliev from Utrinski vesnik introduced himself at
the end of the session and highlighted the problems and challenges of the print
media.
The second
session focused on the topic of “Topical Blogs." The accent was placed on
the educational blogs and all the speakers gave their opinion on this topic. At
the beginning, several bloggers from Macedonia, including Irena
Cvetkovic (Femgerila) and Vasilka Dimitrovska (Arheo) presented their topical
blogs. Radmila Zhivanovic from the Institute for Sociologic and legal-political
research, emphasized the advantages of blogging on education topics, but also highlighted
the small number of Macedonian blogs covering this area. The most vigorous
discussion was developed exactly on this topic, to be more precise — on the way
in which these blogs would influence the educational system and how their
trustworthiness should be determined. For the end of the first day, Jeton Aliji
from the SEE University had an interesting
presentation on “Topical Blogs: From Life hacking to Getting things done on-line"
