Fast Video Download is a small but powerful tool that couples with the Firefox browser to manage your video downloads.
It works as an explorer plugin, meaning that it uses very few resources and can get the most out of your Internet connection with excellent results. In one click, Fast Video Download will save embedded video files from following video-hosting servers:
YOUTUBE, ag.ru, angryalien.com, animeepisodes.net, badjojo.com, break.com, bublare.dk, current.com, dailymotion.com, hi5.com, metacafe.com, vids.myspace.com, mult.ru, putfile.com, Streetfire.net, vidiac.com, video.google.com
With just ONE click on the status-bar or custom toolbar icon, FVD immediately opens a "Save As" dialog with the video title and extension in place.
FVD is able to pick any multimedia links from embedded objects and links on ordinary pages.
If there's only one link, the standard dialog opens immediately. Otherwise, links are listed in a pop-up window.
Processing of embedded YouTube video objects: A special download link will appear under every embedded YouTube Flash-Player posted on common pages such as blogs and web-boards.
Support for DownThemAll and FlashGot: You can turn on interaction with your desired download manager in preferences.
Localized in: ca-AD, de-DE, eu-US, es-CL, es-ES, fa-IR, fi-FI, fr-FR, hu-HU, id-ID, it-IT, ja-JP, ko-KR, mk-MK, nb-NO, nl-NL, pl-PL, pt-BR, pt-PT, ru-RU, sk-SK, sr-YU, th-TH, tr-TR, zh-CN, zh-TW.
Known issues:
1. sometimes Firefox can't start download itself (in Downloads window) until page with videoplayer is open or video isn't loaded completely. It can be both restrictions of browser and server.
2. FVD can't get video from embedded YouTube player if original video page requires logon to be viewed (erotic or similar videos). You just need to go to original page and get video from there.

However, if you are not willing to install Fast Video Download, there is another (harder) method for saving and finding the video files on your PC:
1. Using the Internet Explorer browser, choose the Tools dropdown menu, and select Internet Options.
In the Browsing History section, click the Delete button and in the next window that opens click Delete Temporary Files. This is done to facilitate your search for the downloaded video files without going through hundreds of other files that you are not interested in.
2. Using the Internet Explorer browser, go to some of the websites with embedded videos (such as YouTube) and wait for the selected video to be completely loaded.
3. Open the Temporary Internet Files folder (Tools-Internet Options-Browsing History-Settings-View Files) and look for a file with a “.flv”, “.dat” or “file” extension. You can find the desired video even easier if you arrange the files “by size” because videos are often much larger than the other temporary Internet files.
In case you have opened the Temporary Internet Files folder before the whole video is loaded, wait for the video to load completely and press the F5 key afterwards to refresh the folder and add the new video file.
When you find the desired video file, rename it and remember to add the .flv extension at the end (for instance: Paul Oakenfold – Southern Sun.flv)
The .flv files can be played with Media Player Classic, FLV Player, VLC Media Player, etc.
