Notifications of violation for five operators
Yesterday, the Agency for Electronic Communications filed notifications of violation against the operators who failed to coordinate their systems with the Central Database for introducing mobile number portability by July 15.

The regulatory authority informs that upon its notification of violation, the court can issue a fine to the operators in the amount of 4 to 7 percent of the operator’s annual income from the last business year.

“Only three of the operators; VIP operator, T-Mobile and Maktel have completely finalized the process. Each of them is now prepared to offer the mobile number portability service to the citizens. As for the remaining operators, if they do not perform the coordination of their systems with the Central Database, the Agency for Electronic Communications will take all the other measures available in accordance with the Law on electronic communications” is stated in the Agency’s announcement, which responded yesterday that it is neither obstructing nor postponing the introduction of the mobile number portability service.

After meeting with the operators two days ago, the AEC informed that Cosmofon, Neotel, On.tel, Nexcom and Akton have not respected the deadline. Upon the request of the operators, the Agency introduced a test period of work for the operators and announced that after the 31st of August the service would be commercially offered to the citizens.
