Nokia remained the number one cell phone manufacturer in the world in the third quarter of this year selling 51,4 million phones.

According to the information provided by In-Stat/MDR, high-tech market research firm, Nokia remained the number one cell phone manufacturer in the world in the third quarter of this year selling 51,4 million phones. 165 million phones have been sold in the third quarter of this year, while 653 million phones have been sold in 2004.
Thus, Nokia remained number one in the world, supplying 31,2% of global market. Successful results came with cutting prices of mobile phones, which resulted in increased shipments in Western Europe. Samsung and LG have taken over the market in North America and Latin America.
Top six cell phone manufacturers in the world are:

  • Nokia 31.2%
  • Motorola 14,1%
  • Samsung 10,3%
  • Siemens 7,3%
  • LG 7,2%
  • Sony-Ericsson 6,5%
