Interconnection fee with the network of Makedonski Telekomunikacii will be among the key factors for cheaper telephone services for the citizens, said the future operators in fixed-line telephony. MT will publicly present the interconnection offer to the future operators in fixed-line telephony. Registered operators and service providers will be acquainted only with the technical and legal terms of the interconnection offer which are already approved by the Agency for electronic communications. In few days, the Agency is expected to declare about the fee that new operators should pay to the Telecom for connecting of the networks. “Telecom announced that it will offer good interconnection fee. We expect fee similar with the fees in Croatia or Bulgaria, the countries will several fixed-line operators. After the Agency declares itself about the offered fee, we will assess whether the fee is realistic or imposed. All future operators in the fixed-line telephony will join together in negotiations, even we will take legal actions if the offered interconnection fee is not in accordance with the market logic. The negotiations about interconnection must not last too long. In that case the Agency for electronic communications should intervene for new fixed-line operators to start working as soon as possible,” said Marjan Grijakovic-Gjurovski, director of Nextel. According to some estimations, the future operators in fixed-line telephony should pay 50.000 euros each in order to have direct connection to the MT’s network. With the direct connection the citizens will be able to choose the operator by entering four-digit number, operators’ code, before the number they dial. According to the legal provision, Telecom has already purchased such software for 1.8 million euros. Telecom announced that after the offer is presented, the negotiations with the future operators in fixed-line telephony can be launched, thus contributing to liberalisation of the fixed-line telephony market. Agency for electronic communications stresses that about 30 companies have already received their notification for providing various telecommunication services. Source: Dnevnik (4601 hits/посети) |
