Companies offering internet telephony complain that Makedonski Telekomunikacii imposes very expensive prices for using the special numbers that enable users to connect to their systems.

Operators note that the prices of 2.2 denars per minute for local calls and 4 denars for national calls that should pay to MT they will not be able to offer cheap international calls to the citizens.

Because of these prices for access to MT’s network we will have to increase the prices of the services in order for us to be competitive to the Telecom. Agency for electronic communications and Macedonian Government should provide competitive market, because the operators and the citizens will remain prisoners of the MT’s dominant position,” said the companies that offer internet telephony.

They have been blocked for a month because MT has used the legal opportunity to disconnect subscriber’s telephone numbers they have used to access their systems. One minute telephone call via internet to USA, Canada or Australia cost 6 denars which forced Telecom to decrease the prices for international calls for 50%. These days Makedonski Telekomunikacii launched a campaign for pre-paid card for international calls MT planet. With this card telephone call to USA costs 9.9 denars.
