In the realms of the Government Leaders Forum in Lisbon Macedonian Prime Minister Buchkovski met Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates.

Possible realisation of a project that will provide solutions for the work of the local self-governance was announced at the meeting.

Local Macedonian companies would develop the technology that would be offered to the municipalities as a service and the implementation would be supported by the Macedonian Government.

Buchkovski and Gates talked about the general economic situation in the region, as well as the situation in Macedonia after the awarding of the candidate-country status.

Buchkovski informed Gates about the realisation of the governmental projects predicted in the Strategic Partnership Agreement signed between the Macedonian Government and Microsoft. They agreed that information technology can transform Macedonia into regional leader.
