Implementing E-Local Governance in Macedonia 

By supporting the implementation of E-Local Governance in 34 municipalities the project Implementing E-Local Governance in Macedonia aims to achieve the following objectives: better public policy, greater trust in government, stronger democracy, and enhanced quality of service for citizens.

The impact of the project at the broadest level is simply better governance by enabling better policy outcomes, higher quality services and greater engagement with citizens using ICT. More specifically the project impact is as follows: developed/improved municipal ICT infrastructure, improved public access infrastructure, trained municipality staff, raised awareness on e-governance benefits, provision of technical assistance and strengthening the capacities of selected municipalities in applying the e-governance model and concept, and fostering citizens’ participation in local socio economic processes.
 
Key components of the project are: upgrade IT equipment, communication technology and basic office software for municipalities, provide for an internet-based municipal management information system and develop e-government solutions for citizen service.
