e-Riders

e-Riders project (official blog of the Project) strengthens NGO capacity in Macedonia in order to convey their message, to incite civic participation in society, to work together and to serve to their communities better. E-Riders are mobile consultants that provide support to civil society organisations for optimal use of ICT as means to more efficient performance of the activities and achieving their mission and goals. They provide free technical support and assistance to NGOs in developing individual strategies for using ICT.
The e-Riders project is supported by the Foundation Metamorphosis, Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia and Open Society Institute – Budapest.

NGOs will receive expert assistance by the e-riders to develop their own strategy for using ICT tools. e-Riders from Metamorphosis will travel and visit NGOs providing assistance in developing web sites, use of internet, creating e-networks and solving day to day problems related to ICT.

• Continuous cooperation with NGOs involved in the Project through visits and performing expert analyses regarding their information resources and needs.
• Assistance in developing sustainable information strategy tailored according to their activities, goals and mission.
• On-site interventions for implementing technical expertise and conveying knowledge and skills.
• Promoting use of licensed software by sharing information for different forms of fighting piracy among them localization and use of free and open source software suitable for everyday needs.
• Enhancing quality of informing and promoting of the information society achievements.
  

The goals of the Project are to help NGOs create a sustainable ICT strategy tailored according to their activities, goals and mission, to enhance the information and communication capacity of NGOs, to increase and improve the quality of the reporting and promotion of the benefits from the information society, to enhance the information and communication capacity of NGO and to create effective ICT strategies that would enable NGOs to use technology to enhance their activities and mission.
