AD “Makedonski Telekomunikacii” will have to offer the ADSL service, which allows 15 times faster internet-access, to other internet-providers as well.
AD “Makedonski Telekomunikacii” will have to offer the ADSL service, which allows 15 times faster internet-access, to other internet-providers as well. This was the decision of the Monopoly authority. Till now, that service was offered only to MT-Net.
AD “Makedonski Telekomunikacii” has not adopted the official position as the respective decision has not been received yet.
This service was disputed to the authorities by the internet-providers MOL and On-Net, since they consider that the telecom took advantage of its exclusive rights and destroyed the competition. The Monopoly authority found that the telecom violated the Law on preventing the competition limitation and instructed them to stop promoting and concluding contracts for ADSL service, until they offer it to all providers.
The Monopoly authority also accepted the request of the providers that the telecom should offer the customers with the possibility of paying for the internet-service through their telephone bills. The Monopoly authority will file a notification of violation if AD “Makedonski Telekomunikacii” does not adhere the decisions.
