Six gamers will represent Macedonia at the Electronic Sports World Cup that will be held in Paris, France from June 27 to July 2, 2006. Sasho Mitushevski, Kiril Ognenovski, Vlatko Sekovski, Toni Milevski and Aleksandar Pavlovikj form Skopje are members of the team Simplex and with their coach Bojan Momirovski will compete in Counter Strike, while Slobodan Naumovski from Bitola will test his knowledge, speed and reflexes in Warcraft 3. These young Macedonians won the national championship with 200 gamers held in Skopje on June 4, 2006.
Electronic Sports World Cup will be held in the heart of Paris, in The Palais Omnisports Bercy, which is among the most beautiful sport facilities in Europe. Young gamers representing 53 countries from all over the world will compete for the title. The Palais Omnisports Bercy with 5.000 m2 and 15.000 seating capacity will host 600 state-of-the-art computers for the contestants. 500 journalists will report from the Electronic Sports World Cup and more than 40,000 spectators are expected to attend the Cup while over one million people in the world are expected to follow the event via the TV, the Internet and national press.
This will be Macedonia’s second appearance at the Electronic Sports World Cup.
National championship was organised by the Electronic sports club Forum , Belgrade and cyber club Enternet. Forum owns the licence for organising national championships in Macedonia.
Last year five gamers competed in the Electronic Sports World Cup in the Grand Hall of the Louvre Museum in Paris .
