Macedonia is the only country that is advertising on CNN , the global TV network, without website related with the promotional campaign that will allow foreign tourists to inform themselves about the tourist offer in the country via the internet.

Foreigners that will type constitutional names of other countries advertising on CNN, for example croatia.com , montenegro.com , turkey.com will have access to lot of information about these countries from the tourist offer to weather forecast.

Experts think that that TV vignette for promoting Macedonia lacks website that will offer information about hotels, transport, expenses and everything related to the travel and stay in Macedonia.

Filip Stojanovski, internet expert from Metamorphosis Foundation thinks that it is necessary together with the vignette to go a website that will offer information about our country.

“Having no website with the vignette that will offer necessary travel information and services, such are reservations or buying tickets is serious disadvantage. Even if somebody is interested and search on Google looking for information about Macedonia there are big chances to find foreign websites with information dating from 2001 or negative propaganda from our neighbours, and not appropriate Macedonian websites.

African country Uganda , just like lot of countries in the world has special website for promoting the tourist offer. If you type visitmacedonia in Google search box, first result is a website with reasons why not to visit Macedonia. The only website with information about Macedonian tourist offer is exploringmacedonia.com which is difficult to load and contains old information.

Vreme already wrote that the internet addresses with the name Macedonia are usually used by individuals from foreign countries, especially from Greece. Thus, the address with our constitutional name www.republicofmacedonia.com is owned by British company Website Brokers Limited . For over ten years macedonia.com has been owned by Greek non-profit Panmacedonian network that publish information about Greek character of Macedonia history and culture, as well as about the tourism in Greece. Promotional TV vignette for Macedonia was aired this month after the agreement between Macedonian bank for reconstruction and development and CNN has been signed.
