Dimitar Mishev, student in secondary school Slavcho Stojmenski in Shtip won bronze medal at the 14th Balkan Olympiad in Informatics in Nikosia, Republic of Cyprus.
Apart from Mishev Macedonian team was consisted of the following secondary school students: Bojan Kostadinov, secondary school Georgi Dimitrov, Ilija Lalkovski and Stefan Trajkovski, secondary school Rade Jovchevski Korchagin from Skopje and Alen Stojanov, secondary school Kocho Racin, Veles. Macedonian national team was headed by Mile Jovanov and M.Sc. Metodija Janchevski, Institute of Informatics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and president of the Macedonian IT Association.
National teams of teams of the host, Cyprus, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova and Albania participated in the Olympiad. The next big competition for our national team is the 18th World Olympiad in Informatics that is to be held in Merida, Mexico on August 13-20. The accommodation of Macedonian team is provided by the host, but there is lack of financial resources for the travel.
Macedonian national team have won 8 bronze and 2 silver medals won at Balkan Olympiads and 6 bronze and 2 silver medals at the World Olympiads.
