Macedonian Government Proposes New Ministry of Information Technology
The Government does not abandon the idea to establish Ministry of Information Technology. The proof for that is the latest Government’s session at which the Cabinet of the Prime Minister Gruevski adopted the Draft for altering and amending the Law on organization and functioning of the governmental administration agencies. The Law predicts establishing the Ministry of Information society, as central implementation institution, with defined functions and jurisdiction, that would boost and coordinate the development of information society process, based on the National Strategy for Information Society Development. If the new government coalition provides two-third support in the Assembly for altering the Law on Government, the new Minister will be Ivo Ivanovski, current director for information technology in an American company.
