Macedonian Chambers of Commerce advised the Government to decrease VAT in the sphere of ICT. Macedonian Chambers of Commerce is asking for decrease of VAT from 18% to 5% for internet services, software and hardware that would result in increasing the number of internet users.
ICT and using internet services are of great importance for moving Macedonia towards knowledge based economy via sustainable development of information society, claim the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce. The economists thinks that with decreased taxes in the sphere will attract investors in the ICT and will enable enhanced development of software technology, investing in equipment for modern technology as well as bigger employment rate and education of employed.
