International internet company CISCO Systems opened office in Skopje on November 2, 2006. CISCO entering Macedonian market will enable local companies to become official partners and to obtain access to new communication technologies, MIA reports.
“We are bringing the networking experience closer to the citizens. We would like to network the hospitals, schools and libraries and to build a network that will allow access to all services to people living in rural areas. We offer programs, such is “CISCO networking academy,” said Ishtvan Pan, CISCO Systems representative.
Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said that the fact that a company that is world leader in information and communication technology and networking comes to Macedonia is big success.
”CISCO Systems will support Macedonia in building knowledge-based economy and information society. The Government will build partnership with this company. Very little is done in the sphere of information society so far and the situation is far from satisfactory,” said Gruevski.
