Starting from the summer flight schedule – March 23, Macedonian airline company MAT introduces new reservation and payment system for airplane tickets through the new website www.mat.com.mk
Starting from the summer flight schedule – March 23, Macedonian airline company MAT introduces new reservation and payment system for airplane tickets through the new website www.mat.com.mk . MAT purchased sophisticated technology from SITA company that offers reservation system and communication with airline companies.
“Payment for tickets can be in cash or with credit cards. Currently we have problem with Macedonian credit cards, but we are expecting to solve this problem until new e-ticketing and online ticketing system become operational. By buying tickets online not only that MAT services will become simpler to use, but also the company’s expenses will be decreased. Thus, we will be able to offer more favourable ticket prices compared with the current prices, from 5% to 15% regarding the tariffs,” said Nicolas Kimerle, MAT’s commercial director.
The new way of work will allow opening new flight destinations. Starting from February 1, 2007 MAT will have three flights per day to Istanbul, and four with summer flight schedule. From May 1, 2007 MAT will fly from Ohrid Airport via Skopje to Paris.
“Last month we have signed contract with the English company Semar Group for tourist charters from Ohrid to Amsterdam and London that will start from May 1,” stressed Kimerle.
MAT informed that negotiations with Macedonian government for direct flight from Skopje to Brussels are on hold.
“We have submitted our offer and we are waiting for answer. We need at least 60 passengers for this flight to be profitable. Currently MAT offers flight to Brussels via Vienna and Zurich with 16 week connections,” said from MAT.
