Presentation of opportunity of free access to great number of internet databases was held in the NUL “St. Clement of Ohrid“ on January 17, 2007. The access to this rich source of internet academic articles, journals and scholarly works is provided through annual subscription that will be available until October 2008 and is financed by USAID within the Creative Teaching and Learning Project implemented by the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia (FOSIM).
Free access to internet databases will be made available to all educational institutions in the Republic of Macedonia – primary and secondary schools, faculties, libraries, as well as dormitories.
The presentation was accompanied with short workshop about access and use of the system moderated by Miodrag Dadasovic, coordinator of Macedonian Consortium of e-libraries, and Dragan Nikolic, representative of EBSCO information service (one of the available databases).
Apart from access to EBSCO databases, Macedonian educational institutions have access to GAGE and IOP databases, and access to Cambridge University Press (CUP), Oxford University Press (OUP) databases is expected to become available soon.
