Agency for Electronic Communications invites bids for 3G telephony
The Agency for Electronic Communications is inviting bids for granting one frequency for the 3G telephony, which enables wireless access to the global telecommunications infrastructure, i.e. a wide spectrum of integrated services such as speech, data, images and video.
Interested bidders should indicate in their offers approximate retail prices, as well as prices for other mobile and fixed-line operators and internet providers that would be willing to offer 3G services.
The license for using the radiofrequency determined by the Government and the Agency costs EUR 10 million. The bid submission starts 60 days after the day of the public bid announcement, and the public bid opening will take place on the 11th of January 2008. Three or four domestic and foreign companies are interested in the 3G tender called by the Agency in August.
