Macedonia is one of at least 37 countries from across the globe which will take part in the first global celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit in November 2008.

At the planning event which took place on the 14th of September in London, representatives from more than 37 countries, among which YES Foundation (www.yesincubator.org.mk) from Macedonia attended this event and jointly discussed the next year’s event organization in all those countries.

Global Entrepreneurship Week will be the world’s biggest single event celebrating and promoting entrepreneurship amongst young people.  In one week from 17-23 November 2008, millions of people will take part in events organised by thousands of organisations in hundreds of cities worldwide.  The aim is to create the world’s next generation of entrepreneurs, by inspiring people through activities in the classroom, workplace, and on the internet.

This initiative has also attracted support and the presence of a wide range of world leaders and entrepreneurs:

"Enterprise Week has been a massive success in the UK - over 5,000 different events will take place this week.  >From next year it will be linked to enterprise campaigns around the world through Global Entrepreneurship Week.  By unleashing the creativity and ideas of young people all over the world, we can create the successful products and businesses of tomorrow”.  Gordon Brown, UK Prime Minister (speaker at the planning event on 14th of November).

“Young people are involved in entrepreneurial ventures all around the world, using their creativity, ingenuity, and energy to start businesses and solve problems. This enterprising spirit – the core of Global Entrepreneurship Week – is an invaluable resource the world must tap as we seek to extend the benefits of economic growth to more people across the globe and address the complex challenges facing us all".  Carl Schramm, President and CEO, Kauffman Foundation (speaker at the planning event on 14th of November)
