The appeasing messages come after the fears that some of the computer stores will not be able to respond to the demand until the deadline and that the remaining vouchers would be void.

Some of the computer resellers are disappointed due to the lack of response of the students for purchasing computers with vouchers so far, i.e. they have barely realized twenty percent hitherto. A part of the owners fear that the students will rush in several days before the deadline expires, and that they would not have enough computers for everybody interested. Other companies, on the other hand, claim that the campaign is conducted according to the plan and that they have sold a large number of computers to date, particularly laptops.

The representatives of the Government say that they still do not have precise information on the course of the sale process.

“We are expecting to get this information soon. It is important that the students complete the transaction before the final deadline, i.e. the 15th of December. The whole procedure will be under the control of the Public Revenue Office and the Ministry of Finance” – Government’s spokesperson Ivica Bocevski said.

According to the Law on issuing vouchers, the computer firms should submit the vouchers to the Government until the 22nd of December at the latest, and the final deadline to charge for them is four days later.

With the most recent amendments of the Law, it is projected that all the students who have enrolled in the final year of studies before the amendments were published in the “Official Gazette”, should get vouchers for buying a computer.
