Announcement: Public debate on the law on e-waste in Ohrid

In order to enable all stakeholders to participate in the debate on the bill, so far we have held two debates in Skopje and Shtip. The third public debate will be held on June 13, 2011 in Ohrid. The debate will be held in the premises of the municipality (12:00-14:00h).

During the public debate, presentations will be held by Elena Ignatova (Metamorphosis Foundation) and Lence Kjurcieva (Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning), after which a discussion will be opened on the draft-law on management of electrical and electronic equipment and waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The events are organized under the project "Strengthening citizens’ participation in the legislative process" implemented by the National Democratic Institute (NDI), in order to advocate for the adoption of a law for dealing with electronic and electrical waste. These activities are also in compliance with the current project of Metamorphosis on this subject: "Balkan e-Waste Management Advocacy Network."
