After the marathons held in late April 2012, the wiki marathoners had another meeting. Namely, on May 4 in Debar and May 9 in Veles, two more wiki social events where held, attended by a total of 28 participants.

On May 4, participants were gathered at the premises of the Center for sustainable community development - Debar (Cultural Center) starting at 14.00h. On May 9, the marathon was held in the premises of the Focus Foundation in Veles, starting at 16.00h.

Same as the previous ones, these marathons started with a short training on using the wiki.mk platform. Participants then followed the steps for posting, editing and updating text content and photos, started to individually import previously prepared texts and photographs from various areas, using the wiki tools.

The marathon in Debar was attended by 16 participants; volunteers, teachers, students from the school ‘Said Najdeni’ from Debar, a representative of the association ‘Radica DE’ - Debar, as well as representatives from the Center for Sustainable Development Debar. During the marathon, 20 articles in Albanian and Macedonian language were created..

In Veles, the training was attended by 12 representatives, volunteers from the organizations Steps of the young, Media Active Club, Children’s Youth Parliament of Macedonia and the Focus Foundation. Participants posted 15 articles in Macedonian and an article in Turkish language.

These events also promoted the Wiki.mk and Wiki technology in general, as tools for sharing information of local importance and active citizen participation through use of new technologies..

The marathons are part of the project for decentralized cooperation between Macedonia and the Lower Normandy region. Two more of these marathons will be held in Skopje in late May and early June..
