Many companies for creating antiviruses announced the appearance of the new Trojan virus attacking Microsoft Outlook Express users. The virus is called Backdoor-CGT and arrives as e-mail spam and it is activated by following a link from the message. MessageLabs, company specialized in filtrating of e-mail messages, informed that has received over 3.000 e-mail massages containing the virus in just two hours.
The Virus attacks in several phases that result in installing of the Trojan. The link is browsing through several web locations, each location representing a phase in the process of infection. In order to install the virus, Backdoor-CGT is using the Microsoft Outlook Express vulnerability in recognizing HTML element IFRAME. The Trojan opens small door that invaders use for communication and control over infected computer.
Experts located the virus in Tchecia, domain .biz, but the creators are still not identified. |
